OWENSBORO, KY – The Bearcats finally break their tying streak as they get their first win against the Red Wolves of IU East, 2-0. The boys even up their record at 1-1-1 in RSC play.
The first goal of the match came in the 14th minute off the foot of BU's, Lucas Santos, for his second goal of the season. Nearly the 30-minute mark in the first half, Katai Mukuka found an open lane down the center of the field as an IUE defender chases him down. The two collide in the box resulting in an IUE foul and yellow card as the Bearcats are rewarded with the penalty shot. Declan Armistead nets the PK to give the Bearcats a 2-0 lead.
The Bearcats had numerous chances to add a few more goals but are content with the two as they take the home win.
Pau Gelabert earns his first in goal as he improves his record to 1-1-3.
The Bearcats head to Midway, KY to take on the Eagles this Saturday, Oct. 12, with a kickoff time of 1:30pm CT.
