Lady Bearcats Finish 5th At Lawrence Tech Invite
The Brescia University Women's Team placed 5th in the seven team field in the Lawrence Tech spring Invitational held at Heritage Hill in Shepherdsville KY over the weekend.
Meredith Mayes lead the Lady Bearcats with an impressive 6th place finish in the 40 player field. Despite cold and windy conditions both days the Lady Bearcats showed a lot of resolve and determination to improve on day two and that is exactly what they did. A sixteen shot improvement from day one to day two shows they learned from the mistakes made on day one and the score shows it. Coach Cox is quoted "I am super proud of the bounce back from the first day. The course and weather were brutal and they fought through it. The resolve they displayed will serve them well as they move deeper into the semester."
Brooklyn Spicer played well and continues to prove that weather doesn't really affect her game. She can shoot similar scores in "bad weather, or good weather" as she finished 13th overall with scores of 86/88. Colby Reeder in her debut as a Lady Bearcat stumbled the first day with a 99, however followed it up with an 81 to finish in the middle of the pack at 21st overall. Laurel Hotchkiss and Madison Harding round out the Lady Bearcat scores with 92/95 and 97/93.
