Lady Bearcats Move to 6-1 Following Win Over the Pioneers
HARRODSBUG, Ky – The Lady Bearcats continue their hot streak as they pick up their sixth win of the season tonight against CU-Harrodsburg, 87-41. They extend their record to 6-1 on the year with conference play coming early next week.
The all-around dominance for the Lady Bearcats continued in this win as five Bearcats score in double digits in their largest margin of victory this season. BU outscored the Pioneers in the first half 40-13 forcing 11 turnovers as they held the lead going into the locker rooms. Landree Moons and Amelia Mackey led the Bearcats with nine points apiece.
Mackey added to her total shooting a perfect 4-4 from the field for seven more points off the bench. With the 63-30 lead entering the fourth, Graci Risley saw her first action returning from injury as she buried a three with six minutes to go. The Kentucky Wesleyan transfer was found again just a minute later as she sank her second three of the night.
Jennifer Lee made her appearance known down low as she grabbed some play time in the last three minutes, adding eight of her 10 points.
The Bearcats passed the ball incredibly well as they totaled 22 assists; Elise Williams had her first career game with 10 or more assists in her 26 minutes of action.
The Lady Bearcats will face off against St. Mary of the Woods this coming Tuesday at home with a 7:30pm tipoff.
