Lady Bearcats Move to 5-1 in Win Over Welch

GALLATIN, Tenn. – The Lady Bearcats continued their impressive start to the season as they picked up their fifth win of the year over the Welch College Flame Tuesday night, 62-51.

As we tipped off in this early week matchup, the Bearcats looked to score early as they kept a five-point lead over the Flames. Welch battled back to tie the score at 19 to end the first quarter buzzer. The Bearcats kept the Flames to just one made basket in the second quarter as they outscored Welch 14-4, taking a 10-point lead going into the break.

The Flames caught fire in the second half, but the Bearcat lead kept the Welch scoring at bay as they took the 62-51 win.

Jenna Krampe led the Bearcat scoring with 13 points on 5-7 shooting with six rebounds. Cassidy Morris followed closely behind with 12 points on 6-10 shooting and five rebounds.

The Lady Bearcats look to continue their success as they travel to CU-Harrodsburg this coming Saturday at 2pm.
