Men's Volleyball Evens Record at 3-3

MARIETTA, Ga. – The Brescia University men's volleyball team evened their overall record to 3-3 this past weekend following their five-set win over Life University.

After taking a tough three-set loss to the Eagles of Reinhardt on Friday, the Bearcats bounced back in a five-set battle against Life. Some miscues by the BU offense led to a 7-1 run for the Running Eagles of Life. Despite getting within two of the lead, the Bearcats continued to play catchup as they dropped set one, 25-17. BU rallied back in set two keeping a sizable lead over Life before the Running Eagles went on a streak. The Bearcats took set two 25-23 as they evened the set score. Each team took another set from the other until the match came down to a fifth and deciding set. The Bearcats commanded the lead and the momentum in set five as they closed out the match with a 15-6 set win.

Tuna Konukcu had 11 kills in the match along with three block assists and six digs. Owen Collitt added 10 kills with three blocks. Meric Akovali assisted his fellow Bearcats 37 times with five digs.

The Bearcats take on Oakland City at home on February 21 with a tip-off time of 7pm.
