Men's Volleyball Takes Three Sets Against Midway

OWENSBORO, Ky – The Brescia University men's volleyball team picked up their second conference win last night as they took three sets away from Midway. The Bearcats extended their record to 4-15 overall and 2-3 in conference play.

The Bearcats jumped out to an early 6-0 lead over the Eagles in set one. Midway began to gain traction as they came storming back to tie the lead at 12 apiece. BU started to connect on the court as they pulled away from the Eagles surging out on another 6-0 run to take set one 25-22. The Bearcats continued to dominate on the floor as they started set two as they did set one. Midway began to battle back against BU as they took their first lead of the night. Three back-to-back errors by the Eagles gave the Bearcats four unanswered points. Two kills in a row by Tuna Konukcu would seal the set two victory as the Bearcats take a 2-0 lead. BU dominated in set three as they took the 25-19 win over the Eagles to sweep Midway at home in three sets. Konukcu and Mustafa Yildiz led the team in kills with 10 each as Meric Akovali assisted 27 times.

Up next, the Bearcats are slated to play a midweek matchup against Campbellsville in Campbellsville, KY this Wednesday, Mar. 20^th at 6pm CT.
