Men's and Women's Track Excels at Centre Indoor Showcase

Two records were broken on the women's side of the event for the Bearcats. Maliyah Wilson-Taylor, a grad-transfer from Campbellsville University, broke the BU 60m dash record with a time of 8.15 in the finals where she placed 7th of 32 participants. Jeneil Morris placed 12th in the same event with a time of 8.38, not far behind Wilson-Taylor. Abigail Burgett finished 15th with a time of 8.50 as Victoria Poon wraps up the dash for the Lady Bearcats in 29th with a time of 9.19. Mia Grosshans finished the mile run with a time of 6:07.09 to land her in 15th place out of 22 runners. Carmela Shorkey and Mia Grosshans both finished in the top 10 in the 1000m run crossing the line at 3:29.54 (Shorkey) and 3:32.51 (Grosshans). Wilson-Taylor broke her second record of the day in the 200m dash crossing the finish line in 8th with a 27.51 time. To wrap up the women's side, the 4x400 relay team consisting of Wilson-Taylo, Ashuante Watts, Carmela Shorkey, and Abigail Burgett finished in 5th place out of nine teams with a time of 4:31.29.

On the men's side, Declan Armistead finished 7th of 25 runners in the men's 400m dash with a time of 52.99.

The action on the women's field side was just as exciting as the track side as Jordyn Cardwell finishes 2nd in the long jump with a mark of 5.23m (17ft 2in). Jeneil Morris finished 6th with a mark of 4.72m (15ft 5.75in). Cardwell continued her success from long jump to high jump as she finishes 7th in a field of 10 with a mark of 1.40m (4ft 7in). Ashby Greenwell finished 5th of 27 in the shot put with a mark of 10.45m (34ft, 3.5in) for her first action of the season.
