Bearcats Compete at RSC Championship

The Brescia indoor track & field team competed at the RSC Championship on February 19th, tying for 7th place.

RUNNING EVENTS:

In the 60m prelims, Colby Aschenbrenner (SO/Ottumwa, IA) placed 15th with a time of 7.50 seconds.

Mason Aschenbrenner (SR/Ottumwa, IA) improved his time in the 60m hurdles, running a new personal record of 8.25 seconds and taking first place. He also earned All-Conference in the event. Talon Hutto (SO/Floyds Knobs, IN) also advanced to finals in the 60m hurdles, running a PR of 9.14 seconds and placing sixth.

Denilson Whitmore (SR/Murfreesboro, TN) scored a point in the 200m dash, placing eighth with a time of 23.69 seconds. Talon Hutto (23.95), Colby Aschenbrenner (25.32), and Ethan Pierce (SO/Leitchfield, KY) (25.63) also competed in the 200m.

John Brink (SO/Owensboro, KY) ran a new personal record in the 400m dash, finishing in a time of 58.84 seconds.

James Barrow (JR/Elizabethtown, KY) and Draven Stewart (SO/Leitchfield, KY) competed in the 800m, running 2:27.63 and 2:32.17. Barrow and Stewart also ran the mile, finishing in 5:33.35 and 5:44.57.

Wes Wheatley (JR/Hawesville, KY) established a new school record in the 3,000m racewalk, earning All-Conference with a third place finish. He finished the event in 20:49.21.

The 4x400m relay team of Mason Aschenbrenner, Talon Hutto, Benjamin Brown (JR/Memphis, MI), and Colby Aschenbrenner placed fourth with a time of 3:41.66.

FIELD EVENTS:

Talon Hutto placed 11th in high jump, clearing a height of 1.65m.

In pole vault, Ethan Pierce placed first by clearing a height of 4.19m. He earned All-Conference and also set a new school record. Reese Haight (SO/Utica, KY) also competed in pole vault.

Talon Hutto and Nick Mighell (FR/Benton, KY) led the Bearcats in long jump, leaping a distance of 6.15m and 5.87m. Benjamin Brown (5.72m) and John Brink (5.03m) also competed in long jump.

Nick Mighell and Benjamin Brown also competed in triple jump, jumping a distance of 11.73m and 11.39m.

In the shot put finals, Andrew Parker (SR/Louisville, KY) placed seventh with a throw of 12.65m. Adam Gregory (FR/Hawesville, KY) and Jessee Wood (FR/Sacramento, KY) also competed in shot put, throwing 9.37m and 8.60m.

Andrew Parker earned All-Conference honors in weight throw, placing third with a throw of 13.47m. Jessee Wood and Adam Gregory also competed in weight throw, throwing 9.40m and 5.88m.

The Bearcats will be back in action at the NAIA Indoor Track & Field National Championship on March 3rd-5th in Brookings, South Dakota.
