RSC Matchup of the Week Ends in a Draw for Men's Soccer

OWENSBORO, KY – Men's soccer found themselves at a draw in their conference opener to the Crimson Pride, 2-2. After a highly intense and competitive match, the Bearcats extended their record to 1-7-3 overall and 0-0-1 in RSC play.

In this River States Conference Match of the Week, the Bearcats and the Crimson Pride lived up to the hype of this matchup. The Bearcats found the back of the net first in the 16th minute from Federico Munoz on the assist from Katai Mukuka. Lucas Santos earned his first goal of the season in the 23rd minute as Declan Armistead dribbled past multiple defenders to assist on the goal. The Crimson Pride cut the Bearcats advantage in half in the 25th minute to inch them closer to the soon-to-be tie.

IUC came out of the half fired up as they maintained possession for majority of the second half. The equalizer was shot and scored in the 71st minute of the match. Both teams upped the ante as they tried to hit a game winner. Jacob Brown had a good look in the box on a free ball as he couldn't get enough on the header to put it in goal. The conference opener for both teams ended in a 2-2 draw. 

The Bearcats head to Rio Grande, OH this Saturday to take on the Redstorm in another conference matchup with a kickoff time of 12pm CT.
