ST. LOUIS, MO – The Brescia University men's soccer team earned their first win of the season this past Saturday against UHSP on the road, 2-1. After a tough start to the season, the Bearcats improve their record to 1-6-1.
The Bearcats scored first, and quicker than before, as Federico Munoz put his first goal of the season in the 24th minute to give BU the lead. The Eutectics kept the Bearcats at bay the rest of the first half despite the nine shots on goal. The offense looked to add to their lead to give them a score cushion before the end of the match. Katai Mukuka found the back of the net in the 65th minute to take a two-goal advantage. The Eutectics were able to cut the lead in half in the 88th minute, but the Bearcats hold the, off to get their first win of the season.
Guillermo Basilis earned his first win in goal for the Bearcats while grabbing three saves.
Men's Soccer will travel back to St. Louis, MO to take on Harris Stowe this coming Tuesday, Sep. 24th, with a kickoff time of 2:30pm CT.
