Bio

Jason Cox is entering his fifth season as the Bearcats head coach. Since taking the helm as Coach, the Bearcats are back to back River States Conference Champions (18,19). The Bearcat Golf teams have also netted Coach Cox two Conference Coach of the Year awards 2019,2022.

Coach Cox brings a lot of experience back to the BU golf programs after starting the Women’s Golf Program in 1998. As a player and three time captain, Jason was KIAC Conference Champion in 1993, earning the first berth into the National Championship as an individual at BU.

Cox was inducted into the BU Hall of Fame in 2002 for his consistent play and leadership on the course.

After winning over 25 individual tournaments in a long amateur career including runner up in the KY State Amateur, and two USGA National Championships appearances he decided to turn to teaching where his professional passion truly lies. Cox is the former Head Golf Professional at the Bearcats home golf course the Pearl Club at the Summit. Cox graduated from BU in 97 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work.

Coach Cox and his wife Tracy Naylor reside in Owensboro with his two children Maggie and Chloe.
