Bearcats Fall Short Against Alice Lloyd

OWENSBORO, KY – The Brescia University men's basketball team moved to 5-13 on the year and 3-7 in RSC play following their loss to Alice Lloyd, 87-75.

The Bearcats started the game with points on their first three possessions to take an 8-5 lead. Carrieun Mathis would knot the score at 15 with points from the line following a foul call. Playing from behind, the Bearcats continued to force bad shots by the Eagles as Mike Caswell three took the lead for BU. Going into the break, Brescia trailed by three as John Saenz led the Bearcats with 16 points. The Eagles maintained the lead after going shot-for-shot with the Bearcats but pulled away as an and-1 layup put Alice Lloyd up by 10. The Bearcats couldn't muster up a comeback as the Eagles took the win 87-75.

Saenz led the Bearcats with 18 points, 12 rebounds, and three steals as Damian Garcia followed with 17 points. Linkin Lockhart and Mike Caswell also reached double-digits with 11 and 14.

The Bearcats will travel to Terre Haute, IN this coming Tuesday to take on St. Mary of the Woods at 4:30pm CT.
