Men's Basketball Gets Closer to .500 with Win Over Alice Lloyd

The Bearcats struggled to get shots to fall in the first five minutes as the Eagles would quickly jump out to a 10-2 lead. A quick timeout by BU would spark the offense as they came surging back to take the lead 14-12. Louis Penn III would drill a three-pointer to give the Bearcats an eight-point advantage with nine minutes left. Both teams continued to trade baskets through the meat of the first half. BU would continue to pull away from the Eagles as the time ticks off the clock. A final second layup by John Saenz would give the Bearcats their largest lead of the night (12 pts) heading into the locker room. The Eagles would try their best to compete with the Bearcats, but BU was able to keep the distance between the Eagles and the lead.

The Bearcats held off the Eagles despite Alice Lloyd getting with four to win just their second conference game this season.

Four players scored in double digits for BU (John Saenz-10, Cory Gardner-20, Mark Cooper-21) as Taeron Hogg led the charge with 22 points and eight rebounds.

BU will take the home court again on Thursday night at 7:30 pm against Shawnee State.
