In this rainy contest, both teams remained scoreless until the 32nd minute when SMWC broke the tie with a goal from a corner kick. The Lady Bearcats wouldn't go down without a fight as they maintained possession to earn a corner kick of their own. Isabella McChessney would send the ball into the box from the corner where Duda Feres tried her luck at a close-range shot. Feres' shot was deflected off a Pomeroy defender right to Kylie Smith who was waiting for the rebound. Smith's touch would net the Bearcat's one and only goal for BU. Both teams hit a dry spell in the second half to result the contest as a tie, 1-1.
Kylie Smith records her first goal of the season in a time of need for the Bearcats.
BU will travel to Ohio to face Shawnee State tomorrow with a kickoff time of 6pm CT.
