Lady Bearcats Grab 20-Point Win Against WVU Tech

OWENSBORO, Ky. – The Brescia University women's basketball team extended their overall record to 13-6 and conference record to 5-4 following the 64-44 win over WVU Tech this past Thursday.

The Bearcats jumped out to a 14-3 run over the Golden Bears to start this RSC contest. With the eight-point lead going into the second quarter, the Golden Bears started to connect on their shots, inching closer to the Bearcat lead. WVU Tech got within seven of the BU lead before heading into the locker rooms for half.

Despite struggles from the field in the second quarter, the Bearcats turned it around in the third as they added 19 points and extended their lead to 14. BU continued to push the lead even further from the grasps of the Golden Bears as they finished with a 20-point win at the end of the matchup.

Caroline Lucas led the Bearcat scoring with 12 points while adding three rebounds, two assists, and three steals. Cassidy Morris and Shelbie Beatty each scored nine points and combined for 14 rebounds.

The Bearcats will take on the Eagles of Alice Lloyd this coming Saturday, Feb. 1^st with a tip-off time of 3pm.
