Lady Bearcats Move to 3-0 Following Win Over IU Kokomo

OWENSBORO, Ky. – The Brescia Women's Basketball team continued their win streak following their victory over IU Kokomo, 86-61. The Lady Cats extended their overall record to 11-2 and 3-0 in RSC play.

Despite the Cougars taking an early 11-7 lead, newcomer Shelbie Beatty got the Bearcats within one of the lead following her three pointer at the top of the key. From that moment, BU stomped their foot on the gas and never led up as they kept the Cougars to just 22 points at the half.

With the 44-22 lead, Jenna Krampe added four more points on back-to-back possessions. The Bearcats continued on a 13-0 run to start the third quarter as the Cougars struggled from the field. A foul under the basket by the Bearcats led to IUK's first points of the quarter with 6:25 remaining.

The Cougars matched the Bearcats as they each tabbed 21 points in the fourth, but the BU lead was significant enough to grab the 86-61 victory.

Krampe continues her double-double masterclass as she tallied 18 points on 7-8 shooting and 14 rebounds. Four other Bearcats landed in double digit points including: Brooklyn Stewart, Cassidy Morris, Hailee Johnson, and Shelbie Beatty.

The Bearcats will travel to New Albany this Saturday to take on the Grenadiers of IU Southeast at 2pm CT.
