CCU upends Brescia
The Brescia Bearcats ran into a tough stretch of corner kicks that dismantled a good performance against Cincinnati Christian. The Bearcats had spotted CCU two goals in the first half and started the 2nd half strong with high possession and a couple of shots. Then starting at the 61st minute, the Eagles scored two corner kicks in a 7 minute period and simply deflated all momentum for the Bearcats. CCU went on to add three more in the second half.
Injuries still played a big part as the Bearcats played without the services of Geralyn Smith (FR/Cincinnati, OH) and Abby Logsdon (FR/New Salisbury, IN) and several other players were hobbled. But the CK's were the main issue. Coach David Ralph said, "We had things moving well then all the sudden they had two free headers on CK's. No one moved for us. It was simply demoralizing. We are shorter than every team we play, but going for headers is something we either have to do or we have to prevent their runs. Unfortunately, we did neither. I was happy with our passing when we took our time however. We just need to put everything together in one game."
The next match for the Bearcats will be Saturday for Senior Game as the Bearcats play Midway at Kamuf Park.
