2022 (Freshman): Sowders played in 31 games for the Bearcats this season where she held a.240 batting average with 18 hits, 14 RBIs, and three doubles.

At what age did you begin playing your sport?

I began softball at the age of 12 but played baseball since I was 5.

Who was your favorite athlete growing up, and who is your favorite athlete now?

Growing up my favorite athlete was Yadier Molina from the St. Louis cardinals, now it has change slightly to Delaney Spaulding from the softball team USA.

What is the most memorable sporting event that you have attended?

My most memorable sporting event was actually a football game. My dad coached a little rookie team and I was the ball girl. The game was going great but then rain started pouring down and the field turned to mud. The game never stopped. The kids kept playing, even though conditions were getting worse. It looked like so much fun but also painful because everyone was slipping. This event was very memorable to me because it taught me to toughen out, and fight through bad situations, and to make the best out of it.

What is your favorite place that you have traveled to?

Probably Florida for softball because of the games and bonding with teammates while being on the beach.

What is your pre and post-game meal of choice?

I know it’s not good for you but I often do eat before a game, wether it be nerves or just not being hungry, I just don’t eat most times. When I do eat before games it’s mainly light food like fruit. After games I like to each sandwiches or something of the sort. After games I’m hot and tired, so hot meals don’t really sit with me.

Why did you choose to come to Brescia?

I chose to come to Brescia mainly for athletics. But I figured out I could also received a degree in psychology so I can go to a physical therapy grad school after.
